Guardians at the door

Tonight the Boss was playing in his room with his Power Rangers Zord collection. He had gotten a few new items for his birthday. He ran in to tell me that I had to come see his room. I wouldn't be able to get it. There were guards at the door to keep the women of the house out for the evening.

Potty Time

It has happened. We have begun the trips to the potty at our house. The Lady Bug's new favorite thing to do is sit on the potty. Usually she will tell me she has to go potty after she has already done her business in her diaper.  Hey I figured that was a nice start for a 19month old so other than the frequent trips at not the best moments I can't complain. On her day care take home papers it said that she had used the potty at school, but I can't say that I really believed it. Well lightning struck the other night and she actually peed on the potty. I was surprised and amazed that she actually went. Believe it or not she has actually repeated this a couple more times for me. Is it too much to say that I have started to have dreams of a potty trained little girl in the house by age 2ish. Also the dollar signs keep showing up when I think about not having to pay for diapers.

So Far Behind in Posting...

After running errands most of the morning we returned home to a full on Stampede in the living room!
They had so much fun and after a few minutes they switched and the Boss was on the little horse and Lady Bug rode the big horse. They just had the best time!

In the afternoon we had to head to Galveston to get fitted for our Krewe Costumes. While we were there we decided to check out a park that the Boss had been to a few times on his day care field trips. Everyone said it was really cool. They said it had castles and lots of levels. I don't know why but I pictured lots of plastic. Most parks are all plastic these days. This park was really cool. It had lots of levels and stairs and things to do. It wasn't busy at all. Daddy had to just watch us today since his foot is still giving him trouble.

Lady Bug loved going up and down the different levels.
Here is the Boss running in between one set of the little castle houses. There were three different sets of these. So much fun. I had to check it all out myself along with the kids. Made me think of an obstacle course. We will be going back for sure.

Lady Bug found a 15month old friend while we were there. Yes she has her pacifier but that is because she kept trying to put things like mulch in her mouth so I figured at least with the pacifier in other things wouldn't get in so easily.
Hope you have enjoyed a little glimpse at what we were up to today!

My New Favorite Place by Lady Bug

I have a new favorite place. I like it because...
I can hide here.
It is just my size.
I can see the outside world.
I have to climb to get to it.
It has the cool gel things I can pick off.

What is this place you ask?

It is the window next to our front door.

Wonder what the neighbors think? I bet they are jealous they don't have a spot as cool as mine!

What happens during Karate

Do you ever wonder what happens during karate while the Boss is learning to kick and punch? Well Mommy plays keep Lady Bug happy. We bring a folding chair, lots of toys and food. She used to sleep through karate and it was so nice. She couldn't walk when we first started so she would just sit and watch.
NOT ANYMORE!
She doesn't want to sit still or be quiet. She wants to be all over the place and usually very loudly. We start off with all the snacks I can shovel down her to keep her still and busy. Even that has stopped working as well these days. We try toys those don't keep her attention very long. Last class I had to run out to get her in a couple of different teachers classes. I am sure they LOVE me at karate these days. She doesn't like it when I wont let her do what she wants. Imagine that at 18 months. (I knew it was coming I just hoped it would be after she turned two.) So she will go all limp like spaghetti when I try to pick her up and then she lets everyone know that she is none too happy. At this point we usually go for a walk outside.

For a few brief moments the other night her an LZ had some fun playing with toys. I can't wait till she calms down a little and we can all enjoy karate again. Say a prayer for us!
