The Beach

We haven't been to the beach in ages. Today since Daddy was going to be in Galveston for a meeting we decided to try out the beach. It was Ladybug's first time at the beach. The Boss said today at the beach was one of his best times. It was a glorious afternoon just hanging out with each other listening to the waves and feeling the cool breeze.

 

Space Shuttle

Early this morning the Boss and I got up to watch the final landing of Space Shuttle Atlantis on the big screen at Johnson Space Center. There were a ton of people there. It was a memorable experience. It brings tears to my eyes to think that I was part of something so meaningful.

It was a shuttle packed day. Earlier in the week I booked us the final ride in the Shuttle's Motion Based Simulator. This is the simulator that astronauts use to practice launch and landing of the shuttle. It simulates the movement of being there. It is an awesome experience. I have been in the motion base simulator many times to check the stowage of all the Flight Data File but had never taken a ride. I couldn't wait to share the experience with my boys. The Boss decided he wanted to fly first. He was our Commander for launch and first landing.

Once the simulator tilted back to get ready for liftoff the Boss got a little nervous. He quickly got over it and enjoyed looking out the window and checking himself out in the mirror. His favorite part had to be talking on the headset. He even did a little singing and chanting while I landed.
Next up was Daddy. He did a great job landing the shuttle. In another life he could be a pilot. He landed at night and in a thunderstorm.

I went next. Lets just say the first attempt was a little bumpy but our pilot "Snack" told me I was overcompensating and I cleaned up my flying real quick for a super smooth ride on the second. I should have been the best flyer since I had actually gotten a chance to take a ride earlier in the week as well with some friends and coworkers. Here is a pic of me from earlier in the week. Our 4th passenger was a great pilot as well. She did such a good job that the Boss fell asleep in his seat.

It was an amazing time. We all really enjoyed it. The fact that the shuttle program was coming to an end and the final shuttle had landed that morning made it all that more special. Something we will never forget.

The 6 Month Checkup

Ladybugs 6 month checkup went well. She is a healthy happy little girl. We had no issues, the doctor had no issues so it was a pretty nice checkup. She got weighed and measured. She weighs 15.5lbs (50%) and is 27.5in (96%). She is long and skinny. Today she had to get two shots. I was worried cause last time didn't go so well. This time she didn't really even notice the first. The second one she cried for a minute but nothing like last time. Thank goodness. She slept most of the rest of the day. So glad everything went so well.

6 Months...Already?

• Sitting pretty well on her own
• Holds her own bottle (needs just a little help with the angle)
• Eating rice cereal like a champ (starting more fun foods this week)
• Next week she will be 6 months old
• Sleeping pretty well
• Loves to stick things in her mouth

4th of July

We headed back to LA for the 4th weekend. We got to see lots of family. For the Boss I believe the highlight of the weekend was going to his Paran's house and playing with all the kids on the water slide.

We've Moved

Well we have moved back to Kids R Kids by our house. We enjoyed going to the KRK over by Bay Area. Everyone there was so very nice. We will miss them. The drive to pick up the kids now is a lot less hectic though. Here is a picture of Ladybug with her two room teachers from Bay Area.

And here is a great picture that KRK Centerpoint emailed me at her first day there. How sweet of them.

Another plus is the cameras there are new so I can actually see her and the Boss on the screen without having to guess if it is them or not.
