Parr Patriot Award

Today was the Boss's last awards ceremony as a Kindergartner. He received the Parr Patriot award for great behavior in class this past 9 weeks. We are so proud of our big guy. Dad was finally able to make it to one of his awards ceremonies, but I wasn't. Can't believe that he is done with school tomorrow for the summer.

Backyard Pool Bliss...Sort Of

This past Memorial Day weekend we went to LA to visit family. The Prejean family was nice enough to let the kiddos take a dip in their new pool. I am really thinking we may need to invest in one of these for our backyard. I think it would be just the right size. Our only problem would be keeping the skeeterz away. So back to the pool party. The Boss couldn't wait to get in the water and he enjoyed every minute. The only thing that would have made it better for him is if he could have jumped in somehow. The Lady Bug on the other hand was not convinced that she wanted to hang out in the pool. She liked standing in the pool but would not sit in the pool at all. She did enjoy playing with the cups and with the Boss, but overall she voted pass on the pool time fun. Hoping that she has a better experience when we go to Austin  in a week. A Green Belt in the House

The Boss is moving right along in the karate arena and he still loves it. He tested today for his green belt.  In case you are interested in the program he is in there are the following in the Junior Division: White, Yellow, Orange, Green, Blue, Purple (3 Degrees) and Red (4 Degrees). He and his best buddy CZ are too cute during class. They love to sit next to each other and even have to do water and potty breaks at the same time. I am so glad that they are enjoying this together.

For this test they did lots of advanced kicks: A jumping front kick, a hook kick and a spinning hook kick.

A Tender Moment

This evening when we got back to the house after getting the Boss a haircut both of the kiddos fell asleep around 7:30pm on the floor in the living room. It was the sweetest thing and I just had to take a picture.

Morning conversation:
The Boss- Mom the reason my head hurts and I missed school yesterday is because I need a haircut.
Me- You sure it isn't because you had strep and a fever.
The Boss - No Mom I need a haircut! Can you do it this morning? I don't want to wait till tomorrow, cause my head might start hurting again.

We have to wait till tomorrow because tonight we have karate.

15 Months Today

My little Lady Bug is 15 Months Old today. So I thought I would take a minute to talk about what she has been up to.
She is all over the place. Very curious and loves to check everything out. One of her favorite things to do is take the silverware out of the dishwasher. She likes to hide it around the house. She loves music and dancing. She is attached to her Mother. She plays peek-a-boo and has started saying a few words. She still only drinks milk out of bottle. She will not touch it in a sippy cup. She will drink juice out of a sippy cup. She plays with her hair while she drinks and right before bed. She loves to wipe her eyes right after she has eaten and get all messy. She has been teething and working on her 3rd and 4th botton teeth. Her hair curls when it is humid or wet. She loves the park. She eats like a champ. Loves celery, rice and gravy, brocolli, and is a big meat girl. She loves to be with her big brother and do whatever he is doing. She loves the beach and the bath. Throwing balls is one of her favorite activities as well as coloring. It amazes me how much she has grown and how everyday she is developing into a big girl.
